'I'm Just Here To Buy Soy Sauce' Radio Play Recording
Claire will be voicing the characters of Charmaine and Cassandra in the audio version of Jingan Young’s play ‘I’m Just Here To Buy Soy Sauce’. The play originally toured London in 2016 and was published in 'Foreign Goods', the first British Chinese play collection published by Oberon Books in the UK.
It is estimated that by 2025 China will have invested £105 billion + in British infrastructure, energy, transport but primarily in property. Are the Chinese solely to blame for the UK housing crisis?
“I’m Just Here to Buy Soy Sauce” follows two couples – a pair of cut-throat real estate agents vying for the spotlight as they attempt to sell their latest million-pound property to a Chinese tycoon and a young couple, whose attempt to buy their first home together has left them picking up the pieces of their relationship. With the housing crisis reaching breaking point, this project aims to ensure that the conversation is heard from both sides, reclaiming the debate about the state of housing in our capital.
Featuring Claire and actor David East, the audio drama is produced by Jingan Young and will be available from May 28th at 7pm. A limited amount of discounted pre-sale tickets can be purchased until that date on the link below.
