Operation Mincemeat Runs At Southwark Playhouse’s ‘The Large’

After an initial 2020 work-in-progress run was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic, Operation Mincemeat is now running at Southwark Playhouse’s ‘The Large’ theatre in the Summer of 2021. The 2021 run will combine both a work-in-progress run of the new comedy musical with a run of the full production, starting on 23rd July and ending on 18th September.

Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Noel Coward meets Noel Fielding, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II. The question is, how did a well-dressed corpse wrong-foot Hitler?

Operation Mincemeat won The Stage Debut award for Best Composer/Lyricist, the Off-West End award for Best Company Ensemble, and was listed in The Observer‘s Top 10 shows of the year.

The production is written by Spitlip and Claire plays character Jean Leslie, alongside David Cumming, Natasha Hodgson, Zoe Roberts (who all make up Spitlip alongside Musical Director Felix Hagen) and Jak Malone. Donnacadh O’Briain directs with Jenny Arnold choreographing.
